The Greek term “theos” (god) does not refer to Elohim in every circumstance. It denotes a powerful person, a ruler, and particularly a religious or sacerdotal or priestly one. Although we may have an exalted status and share in God’s nature, we do not share equality with God as Jesus would. We are simply partakers of his nature.
