What kind of judge?

Are you a good judge of character?

A judge of character is entirely different from those that judge others in a way that determines their worth.

A judge of character discerns the difference between one character from another. Their behaviour and their works.

Matthew 7:15-20 MEV

“Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruit. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit. But a corrupt tree bears evil fruit. A good tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a corrupt tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore, by their fruit you will know them.

But there is one that judges others in such a way that they decide what others deserve concerning eternal destiny or condemn, punish—avenge, conclude.

We want to avoid judging others concerning their eternal destiny, or condemn, punish—avenge, conclude without actually knowing their fruit.

We have no room to love our enemies when we judge this way.

Matthew 7:1-5King James Version

7 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
