As a shepherd Abel sanctified his work to the glory of God, and offered a sacrifice of blood upon his altar, and the Lord had respect unto Abel and his offering.
Do we offer a sacrifice that is pleasing to God? Jesus gave it all so that we no longer have need to sacrifice animals on the alter. We give our bodies as a sacrifice of our self will in obedience to God. We can’t earn what Jesus gave us on the cross through making sacrifices, but the sacrifices we do make are acceptable through Christ alone. Only when he stands in our place are we made holy.
Romans 12:1 (MEV): 12 *I urge you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service of worship.
