Have you ever been camping?
Yes, I have been camping and I enjoy it. People enjoy camping for various reasons, such as connecting with nature, escaping the hustle and bustle of daily life, bonding with friends and family. I love all of that too, but my favorite is the campfire, kayaking, and fishing.
God used camping in the wilderness as a way to humble his people. I know there are many ways to humble someone, some comfortable and others uncomfortable.
Either way, camping has humbled me through the beauty of God’s creation. It was not easy for God’s people to be humbled because of disobedience. Think about how nice it is to enjoy the wilderness on your own terms.
Deuteronomy 8:1–2 (MEV): Remember the Lord Your God
8 You must carefully keep all the commandments that I am commanding you today, so that you may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to your fathers. 2 You must remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you, and to prove you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.
