Only God’s word has creative power, we just cultivate it. Only God can call things that be not as though they were, but we align with his word in agreement. We are only partakers of his nature, we are not little gods. He has entrusted trusted us with his authority, but we are not the ultimate authority. We speak to the mountains, but only God moves the mountains, and he’s only going to move them within the confines of his character and his word. God wants us to speak life and words that are full of faith, but we place our faith in our trust in him, and not in the words that we speak. God uses those things as he sees fit. We can’t earn things from God or manipulate him with our words. Our words are carriers of his grace and blessings when used as instructed, it’s not a special formula. It works by trusting in God and allowing him to pour out his grace as he sees fit. God is faithful, and he works according to his character. We need to embrace God’s power to witness by embracing spiritual gifts and avoiding unbiblical extremes.
We need faith in God with corresponding action, because faith without works is dead. Proper works doesn’t produce proper faith, but proper faith produces proper works.
Faith in Christ, not faith in our own works.
