The Joy of Faith in God

Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.

One simple thing that brings me Joy is faith in God.

The Bible tells us that God gives us faith, and faith as a grain of mustard seed is all that we need.

Romans 12:3–6 (MEV): 3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sound judgment, according to the measure of faith God has distributed to every man. 4 For just as we have many parts in one body, and not all parts have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and all are parts of one another. 6 We have diverse gifts according to the grace that is given to us: if prophecy, according to the proportion of faith;

Matthew 17:20-21 (MEV): 20 *Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief. For truly I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. And nothing will be impossible for you. But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.

The kind of unbelief Jesus was talking about. Here was an unbelief in who he said he was. You see your faith should be deeply rooted in the person of God. He didn’t say this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting for any other reason other than To help us understand that having a close relationship with God will make devils flee.

You see, our works can’t cast out devils but our relationship with God can. When you have a relationship with the one who has all the power, Jesus said you could speak to the mountain, and it will move. We’re not putting our faith into the fact that we are speaking to mountains. We are putting our faith in a God who moves mountains. If what we’re saying or doing, does not reflect the will or character of God, you could just expect those words to fall right to the ground. However, God gives us things when we’re persistent, and it is true that some people have been persistent at pursuing the wrong things, but God allowed them to have it and it only ended in disaster.
