What characteristic about God fascinates many, but may frustrate others?
It would be God’s invisibility.
Colossians 1:15–16 (MEV): 15 He is the image of the invisible God and the firstborn of every creature. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they are thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers. All things were created by Him and for Him.
Seeing God in the fullness of his glory could destroy us.
Genesis 32:30 (MEV): 30 *Jacob called the name of the place Peniel, saying, “I have seen God face to face, and my life has been preserved.”
Moses could only look at God from behind a rock.
Exodus 33:20–23 (MEV): 20 He said, “You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live.” 21 Then the Lord said, “Indeed, there is a place by Me. You must stand on the rock. 22 While My glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft of the rock and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. 23 *Then I will take away My hand, and you will see My back, but My face may not be seen.”
