If you had to give up one word that you use regularly, what would it be?
I would give up the word “um” because is shows up in all my sermons and interviews. However I have taken some actions against it. I was taught never to fear the pause. Replace the um with a brief pause.
Matthew 12:36–37 (MEV): 36 *But I say to you that for every idle word that men speak, they will give an account on the Day of Judgment. 37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
You won’t be condemned for the word um but just think about it. Here it talks about empty and insincere talk.
