If we want young adults in our churches, we should encourage and build our youth groups and young adult classes. Young adults are leaving the smaller congregations at an alarming rate because our teens and young adults are neglected.
As of 2023-2024, Gen X parents, now in their 40s to mid-50s, are likely to have children in their teenage years, while Millennials, now in their late 20s to early 40s, are increasingly entering this phase as well.
The majority of teen parents fall into the 35-54 age range according to U.S. Census Bureau, Pew Research Center, and other family demographic studies.
Neglecting young people would impact the amount of parents that attend your church. Young people are the future of discipleship.
1 Timothy 4:12Modern English Version
12 Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity.
