How to be saved: The Roman Road

Important select passages from the book of Romans.

1. All Have Sinned

Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

This verse explains that every person has sinned and cannot meet God’s perfect standard on their own.

2. The Consequences of Sin

Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Sin leads to eternal separation from God, but God offers eternal life as a free gift through Jesus.

3. God’s Love and Sacrifice

Romans 5:8: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

God didn’t wait for us to fix ourselves. He sent Jesus to die for our sins, proving His love.

4. The Gift of Salvation

Romans 10:9-10: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

Salvation comes through confessing Jesus as Lord and believing in His resurrection.

5. Assurance of Salvation

Romans 10:13: “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

This promise shows that salvation is available to anyone who calls on Jesus in faith.

How to Respond:

• Admit your sin and need for God.

• Believe in Jesus as God’s Son who died and rose again for you.

• Confess Him as Lord and Savior of your life.
