Deception happens when someone intentionally leads another person to believe something that is not true. It often involves manipulation of truth, omission of important details, or outright lies.
Satan is often referred to as the “great deceiver” in Scripture because deception is a central part of his nature and strategy. He works to distort truth, mislead people, and draw them away from God.
Jesus described Satan as “a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44). Deception is his primary tool for opposing God’s truth.
When engaging in any spiritual battle, one must first firmly establish themselves in the knowledge and understanding of God’s truth to effectively combat lies.
When Jesus Christ lives inside of you, he has overcome the world, the flesh, and the devil. Jesus Christ is greater than the one who lives in the world of unbelieving sinners.
1 John 4:4
4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
