Jesus spoke often about discipleship, emphasizing commitment, obedience, and transformation. Following Him Requires Sacrifice – “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23)
Jesus taught that discipleship means surrendering our own desires and living for Him.
Obedience is Key – “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples.” (John 8:31)
True disciples remain in His teachings and obey His commands. Love is the Mark of a Disciple – “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35)
Jesus said that love is the defining characteristic of His followers. Disciples Must Count the Cost – “Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.” (Luke 14:27) Jesus warned that following Him requires full commitment, even in hardship.
Making Disciples is Our Mission – “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
Jesus gave His followers the Great Commission, instructing them to make more disciples. Discipleship is not just about learning—it’s about transformation, obedience, and leading others to Christ.
