Washing Feet

When Jesus washed His disciples’ feet (John 13:1-17), He was demonstrating humility, servant leadership, and love. Foot washing was usually done by the lowest servant in a household because feet were dirty from walking on dusty roads. By doing this Himself, Jesus showed that true greatness comes from serving others, not seeking power.

He told His disciples, “I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you” (John 13:15). This wasn’t just about physically washing feet but about having a humble heart and serving others selflessly. It pointed to His ultimate act of service—dying on the cross to cleanse humanity from sin.

For Christians today, this teaches us to love and serve others, no matter our position. It reminds us that following Jesus means putting others before ourselves with humility and love.
