Phil Robertson

Phil Alexander Robertson (April 24, 1946 – May 25, 2025)

Faithful Servant, Patriot, and Family Man

Phil Robertson, a man of courage, conviction, and unwavering faith, answered the call of duty in 1968 when he enlisted in the United States Army just two weeks after leaving Louisiana Tech. With characteristic grit and quiet strength, he served his country during a time of great uncertainty, being drafted to South Vietnam shortly after completing boot camp.

His journey as a soldier took him from the intense jungles of Vietnam to Fort Devens in Massachusetts, where he continued to serve with honor and integrity. For three years, Phil stood tall among America’s finest, embodying the values of sacrifice, discipline, and patriotism. At the end of his service, he was honorably discharged, leaving the Army not just with medals, but with the respect and admiration of his fellow soldiers.

After his military chapter came to a close, Phil returned to the familiar woods and waters of Louisiana. It was there that he began a new mission—helping build Duck Commander into a name known in homes across the nation. But more than a businessman, Phil was a family man, a believer, and a man deeply rooted in his faith.

His life stands as a testament to the strength of character, the beauty of redemption, and the power of living with purpose. Phil Robertson leaves behind a legacy that stretches far beyond the battlefield—a legacy of service, family, and unwavering devotion to God.

We honor him. We remember him. We thank him.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” – John 15:13
