Could I do that?

“Peace, be still” is found in Mark 4:39 of the Bible, where Jesus commands the wind and the sea to be calm during a storm. The full verse reads, “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm,” according to the King James Version. This event is also recorded in Matthew 8:26 and Luke 8:24

You might wonder if such a thing is possible for us today. How persistent are you to see a miracle. The first time we fail we may give in to our human nature and quit. If we understand that our authority is seated in Christ we could do the same because we are partaking in His nature. God is on our side and he has given us His authority. Don’t be quick to give up on your miracle. Words don’t make the miracle God does.

We don’t control God but we rely on the promise that he said that if we speak to the mountain, it will move! Mark 11:23 In verse 22 He opens with “Have faith in God”. Matthew 6:10 said “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”.

No Man Can, but God Can

No man, no matter how anointed no matter what his title of calling has ever spoken anything in to existence.

Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass, unless the Lord has commanded it?  (Lamentations 3:37, MEV)

Only God calls things that be not as though they were. Gods work is a finished work!

(as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) before God whom he believed, and who raises the dead, and calls those things that do not exist as though they did.  (Romans 4:17, MEV)

It is only through His divine power that we have become partakers of his nature.

3 His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who has called us by His own glory and excellence, 4 by which He has given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, so that through these things you might become partakers of the divine nature and escape the corruption that is in the world through lust.  (2 Peter 1:3–4, MEV)

The only way Mark 11:23 could be possible for us, is through His delegated Authority.

In verse 28, the Scribes and Pharisees questioned Jesus. They asked by what authority do you do these things?

Jesus declined to answer because he knew they were looking to discredit his authority.

When we began to think that being say this that are outside of God character and purpose we begin to discredit His authority. We begin to misplace our faith in the one who supplies all our needs.

Jesus told us is Mark 11:22 Have faith in God.

When you have faith in God you have properly placed faith.

Faith Trusts God—It Doesn’t Control Him

“Have faith in God.” – Mark 11:22

“Your will be done.” – Matthew 6:10

Faith in Scripture is about trusting God’s will, not using our words or thoughts to force an outcome.

The New Thought approach often treats faith like a tool to manifest your own desires, but biblical faith submits to God’s desires.

We Are Not Divine—We Are Dependent on His nature in us.
