It’s as if we could give God a one for one exchange, or give to get.
It’s almost like the time when Jesus said this kind comes out by fasting in prayer in reference to demons.
People looked at it as if it was some kind of one for one swap to get the demons out. If I fast demons will come out.
NO, if you live a fasted life with prayer and God becomes your number one priority in life. You put God’s will before your own.
That’s the fasted life. It’s based on relationship with God.
So many pastors and televangelist teach this transactional faith and it becomes a system of works for those who hear it. They’ve been told this is success. This is how you do it.
He that is in me is greater than he is in the world. It’s by the authority and faithfulness of God to His word. We have to trust Him. That is how you do it!
Faith pleases God and faith without works is dead.
But God never required you to have a giant bag of tricks, your Mary Poppins bag of transactional items. Your filthy bag of works.
He said seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all these things will be added onto you.
His faithfulness and his authority alone is the answer.
Faith has corresponding action, but corresponding action is not the answer.
Only Jesus Christ saves, heals, and delivers!
I’m tired of living a life that tries to convince God to do things.
I want a life of rest.
I serve a God who wants to save, heal, and deliver.
Jesus told the story of the unjust judge, where he told us to be persistent.
The problem is, we either get impatient or we become transactional, but we can’t earn answered prayer.
For the woman in the story of the unjust judge, it wasn’t about begging the judge, it was about the persistence to get what she knew was hers.
We rest in God‘s authority, but rest does not mean complacency, disobedience, or lack of activity.
We are busy with God’s work.
In conclusion, we’ve replaced abiding in Christ, abiding in His word, and authority with; works, positive confessions, and affirmations.
Many of us have become more like new thought and the new age. Instead of relying on Christ and Him crucified, through whom we have access to grace and all that God supplies.
