The Bible says in Hebrews 4:12 that the Word of God is living and active. That means God’s Word isn’t dependent on our effort to make it “work”—it already carries power within itself.
You don’t need “positive confession” as a formula to activate God’s promises, as if the Word is dormant until we speak it.
Our walk with God is centered on what Christ has done at the cross, it’s about aligning with the Word that’s already powerful.
In Romans 10:17, faith comes by hearing the Word.
—it’s about agreeing with truth, the truth concerning Jesus Christ.
—The Word is already alive
—God already finished the work through Christ
—Speaking the Word doesn’t give it power, the Word already has power
—Jesus is the Word and the Word is God, not a works based formula.
—we don’t need an exhaustive list of confessions to protect us from witchcraft. God’s word it is always living and active in you.
In practical terms:
something already happened
That keeps it from becoming a works-based or “formula” mindset.
22 Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. 23 For truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says. (Mark 11:22–23, MEV)
Never at any point does the Bible tell us that the power comes from what you say?
The power comes from placing your trust in God. Jesus provided you with an instruction to trust in Him as the authority that moves mountains. It is true, because he said it would happen. And when you speak to the mountain, it is true because he said you could do it. But he never said it was true because you speak it, but it is true because you have faith in God that when you speak He moves mountains.
It has nothing to do with a positive confession
You can’t speak things into existence, but God can.
You can’t call things that be not as though they were, but God can.
Jesus said without me, you can do nothing. John 15:5
Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass,
unless the Lord has commanded it? (Lamentations 3:37, MEV)
so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
it shall not return to Me void,
but it shall accomplish that which I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11, MEV)
