The Bible has a lot to say about how we speak. Speak life instead of death, blessing instead of cursing, and giving of a good report. But we must never confuse that with faith in God, and understand we are not placing our trust in that aspect of our speech. We place our trust in Christ and what he has done on the cross and His authority over the powers of darkness. His word is already living and active inside you. You could say words have power but only the power God gives. Faith in anything else is just another way to be deceived, only Jesus Christ saves, heals, and delivers, nothing else. God uses our words but it’s His character and purpose that supplies the power. We must be careful not to turn God’s instruction and authority into “new thought” false teaching. First and foremost it is Jesus who moves the mountains, not cunning speech. Yes, he still moves mountains today! Mark 11:22-23. He moves our mountains of sin, sickness, and disease. Jesus Saves!
