“God doesn’t get glory out of poverty; He gets glory in spite of poverty.”
While Scripture never teaches that poverty itself glorifies God, it does show that God is glorified by His faithfulness and grace in every circumstance.
- 2 Corinthians 12:9–10 – God’s strength is made perfect in weakness.
- Philippians 4:11–13 – Paul learned to be content whether in need or in abundance.
- James 1:9–10 – Both the poor and the rich are to find their identity in Christ.
- John 9:1–3 – God can display His works through difficult circumstances.

- Hebrews 13:5 – Be content with what you have.
- 1 Timothy 6:6–10 – Godliness with contentment is great gain; the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.
- Proverbs 30:8–9 – Give me neither poverty nor riches.

- Matthew 6:24 – You cannot serve both God and money.
- Colossians 3:23–24 – Whatever you do, work as unto the Lord.
- Luke 12:15 – A person’s life does not consist in the abundance of possessions.
- Mark 8:36 – What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?

- Deuteronomy 8:17–18 – It is God who gives you power to get wealth.

- Philippians 4:19 – God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory.
- Luke 12:16–21 – The parable of the rich fool warns against trusting in earthly wealth.
- 1 Timothy 6:17–19 – Those who are rich should not put their hope in riches but in God.

- Philippians 4:6–7 – The peace of God will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
- John 14:27 – Jesus gives His peace, not as the world gives.
- Isaiah 26:3 – God keeps in perfect peace those whose minds are fixed on Him.

- Hebrews 11:6 – God rewards those who diligently seek Him.
- Psalm 34:10 – Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
- Isaiah 55:6 – Seek the Lord while He may be found.
Taken together, these passages present a balanced biblical perspective: God is our Provider, contentment is found in Christ rather than possessions, wealth is a stewardship rather than an ultimate goal, and our highest pursuit is seeking and serving the Lord.
