Personal testimony:
My mother was declining very quickly in 2025. Twice she was found unresponsive. I had enough and I prayed this way: “I break the assignment of the enemy against her, no more decline in Jesus Name”. Ever since then dementia began clear up and she has been able to follow conversations and eat her meals without help. In 2025 We had to put her in a rehabilitation home because she could no longer walk and she started to decline rapidly. But it was time to put a stop to it. God can stop the rapid decline! If He you did it for me, he can do it for you.
It seems like there are people that lack a certain understanding of how it’s possible to reign in life. It is as if they think that ministers are offering them false promises, not knowing the scriptures or the power of God.
Adam’s failure brought death into the world but, because of Jesus, now we reign in life.
For if by one man’s trespass death reigned through him, then how much more will those who receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:17, MEV)
What does it mean to reign?
To reign means to rule or hold a position of authority.
We’re not talking about shouting orders at people.
We’re talking about rights and privileges, gifted to us by Jesus Christ.
To reign in life would be closely associated with our position in heavenly places.
and He raised us up and seated us together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, (Ephesians 2:6, MEV)
When God the Father raised Jesus for the dead (Ephesians 1:21–22 tells us that He placed Jesus;
21 far above all principalities, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 22 And He put all things in subjection under His feet and made Him the head over all things for the church, (Ephesians 1:21–22, MEV)
We have confidence!
Therefore, brothers, we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, (Hebrews 10:19, MEV)
We move down to verse 23
Let us firmly hold the profession of our faith without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23, MEV)
Firmly hold the profession of Christ and Him Crucified, the source of our Victory through His blood.
Let us then come with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16, MEV)
We have been given the grace to come boldly to the throne though Jesus Christ where He has positioned us to reign in life.
We have the right to use His name,
The name of Jesus.
If we look at the Roman legal documents of biblical times, and even many of the legal documents we possess today. These documents were always signed with the preceding words “in the name of”.
Jesus gave us the legal authority of heaven to pray in His name.
We reign through the use of His name. The name of Jesus.
Jesus said:
12 Truly, truly I say to you, he who believes in Me will do the works that I do also. And he will do greater works than these, because I am going to My Father. 13 I will do whatever you ask in My name, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. (John 14:12–14, MEV)
The Apostle John tells us:
And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another as He commanded us. (1 John 3:23, MEV)
At the entrance of Herod’s Temple, in Jerusalem, let’s look at how Peter used the name of Jesus at the gate called beautiful:
Then Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but I give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” (Acts 3:6, MEV)
The way Peter used the name of Jesus here was a command.
You’ll also find an example like this in Mark 11:22-23
22 Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. 23 For truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says. (Mark 11:22–23, MEV)
Peter used the name of Jesus in combination with a command like the one we see in the book of Mark.
It’s a delegated authority. The rightful power, jurisdiction, or authorization to command, make decisions, and act on God’s behalf.
This is a foundational part of gospel message. There are several examples of this throughout the synoptic gospels. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
Jesus said:
6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 As you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. (Matthew 10:6–8, MEV)
These miracles weren’t Limited just to Israel like they were in this situation. This passage gives an example of what type of authority we are dealing with.
In Matthew, we have an expanded list of miracles:
30 Great crowds came to Him, having with them those who were lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and placed them down at Jesus’ feet, and He healed them, 31 so that the crowds wondered when they saw the mute speak, the maimed made whole, the lame walk, and the blind see. And they glorified the God of Israel. (Matthew 15:30–31, MEV)
When Jesus said “he who believes in Me will do the works that I do also.”
The apostles were only mortal men empowered by the Spirit of God,
What one man can do, another can do! But you can’t do it without the power of the Holy Spirit.
We established the authority of the name of Jesus.
We’ve established the authority of speaking to mountains, mountains like sickness, disease and demons.
We’ve established what kind of things we can do with this authority.
Healing the blind, or maimed meaning; physically injured, crippled, disfigured through the loss or impairment of a hand, foot, or other limb.
Sickness disease and demons are to be treated like an enemy.
We never treat the people like an enemy, only sin, sickness, disease, and demons.
Jesus said “Freely you have received, freely give.” Matt 10:8
When Jesus said that he was talking about delivering the captives. He didn’t say that you had to be called the ministry. He said that if you believed, you could do it.
Jesus described the purpose of his anointing:
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:18–19, MEV)
If you have Jesus you have His anointing. He has anointed every believer with a specific set of gifts.
Be aware of the possibility that even though you don’t have the same gifts, it is through God’s help you could accomplish the same goals.
Things that you thought weren’t even possible.
In the book Hebrews, the writer tells us how God confirmed His witnesses for Christ. God reveals Himself to sinners and confirms His word and His witnesses.
God also bore them witness with signs and wonders and diverse miracles and with gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His own will. (Hebrews 2:4, MEV)
We reign in life when God confirms His word. We reign in life when souls are saved. We reign in life because souls are multiplied to the church daily. We reign in life when the captives are set free by the power of God.
Look, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19, MEV
