Living by the Power of God

“For though He was crucified through weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you.” (2 Corinthians 13:4)

The Christian life was never intended to be lived through human strength alone. We are in a position of victory through Christ, no matter what weaknesses we may be experiencing. Jesus willingly embraced weakness when He went to the cross, submitting Himself to suffering and death according to the Father’s will. Yet the story did not end at the cross. Christ was raised and now lives by the power of God. In the same way, believers recognize their own limitations and inability to produce spiritual life through self-effort. Our confidence is not in our own abilities, but in the resurrection power of God that works within us.

Living by the power of God means depending upon Him daily for strength, wisdom, and endurance. The Holy Spirit empowers believers to overcome temptation, serve others, and remain faithful through trials. When we reach the end of our own resources, we discover that God’s power is more than sufficient. The Christian life is not about striving harder to earn God’s favor; it is about trusting the One who supplies everything we need through Christ.

This truth frees us from the burden of self-reliance. We may feel weak, inadequate, or unable to face the challenges before us, but God’s power is perfected in weakness. Just as Christ triumphed through the power of God, believers are called to walk by faith in that same divine strength. Every act of obedience, every step of faith, and every victory over sin is ultimately a testimony to the power of God at work in His people.
